ABOUT US:
Ally (34) is an Event Planner and Business Owner of her own event agency, delivering events across British Columbia. Simon (40) is a Fundraiser and Philanthropy Manager in a well-known international emergency medical humanitarian organization. We both work from home and have a really flexible schedule.
Education: Ally has a Master’s degree in communications and Simon a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management.
Our Relationship: We met 15 years ago in the north of France during a culinary class! We got married 5 years ago on Bowen Island. Our relationship is grounded in mutual respect, shared values of care and empathy, and a love that enhances our joy in reaching out to others.
Our Adoption Views: For Ally, adoption is a journey that shaped her childhood, having been adopted herself. For Simon, it's a heartfelt continuation of our family's story, offering a nurturing future to a child. Together, we dream of sharing our love and life with another child, promising to provide a supportive, fun and enriching environment.
ABOUT OUR FAMILY:
We are excited to grow our family and share our love with a new member. Right now, it’s us and our playful cat, Pepette. We cherish time with family in France and enjoy celebrating holidays with friends wherever we are. We’re active—playing beach volleyball in summer or relaxing at home with a good movie. Simon loves the outdoors, running, and snowboarding, while Ally enjoys singing, beach walks, exhibitions, and all things fashion.
Both of our families live in France, just 30 minutes apart, and we visit yearly, keeping close with calls when we're apart. Simon has an older brother with cousins, nephews, and nieces, while Ally has an adopted older sister and two nieces. We are grateful to create our own family in Canada and can’t wait to share our bilingual French and English heritage, blending the rich traditions of France and Canada.
Our Background/Heritage: Ally was born in Congo and raised in France, where she embraced the language and culture. French is her first language, and she is also fluent in English. Both of us have a passion for European cuisine; as we attended culinary school, it allows us to enjoy cooking French meals at home. Simon is also from France and has a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and is committed to engaging in community service. Although we are atheists, we respect and are open to all religions and cultures.
OUR HOME & COMMUNITY:
Our Home & Community
Our Home: Our home is a cozy, safe haven filled with warmth and laughter. We live in a two-bedroom unit within a house located in a calm, inclusive community with excellent schools, parks, and supportive neighbors. Families often gather here, and children are always out playing. We’re just two blocks away from the beach, where we spend a lot of time during the summer and enjoy walks along the shore in the winter.
